What you can expect
The Asset Manager (AM) is leading a Cluster consisting of 8 to 12 gas tankers. A Cluster consist of a multi disciplinary team (Crewing, Marine Assurance, Business Control, Procurement, SHEQ, Technical Operations). The objective of this role is to maximum commercial availably at the highest safety standard and competitive cost. The AM reports to the General Manager Technical Operations and has 3 to 4 Vessel Managers as
direct reports (functional and administrative). The rest of the cluster members are reporting functional to the AM.
Your responsibilities
The AM responsibilities includes for the assigned fleet:
1. Maximize Technical Availability (lowest possible off hire)
2. Excellent safety performance
3. Excellent vetting performance
4. Budget control (OPEX, CAPEX and Damage).
For this the AM leads a team of experts consisting of Vessel Managers (VM) Crewing manager, Marine Assurance officer, Purchaser, SHEQ officer and Business Controller. Within this team the following tasks are executed:
• Comply and improve maintenance policies as set-out in the Plant Maintenance System
• Contractor evaluations with Tactical Procurement.
• Steer and follow-up on vetting inspection results.
• Timely issue incident report for vessel clearance after an incident.
• Opex and Capex planning, execution and control on weekly/ monthly and quarterly basis.
• Input for long term crew selection, training and planning (appraisals).
• Leading cluster meetings.
• Leading ORT (Operational Response Teams).
• Participate in ERT (emergency Response Team) duty routine.
• Participate in Incident investigation and implement relevant preventive actions.
• Review month report from the vessels and the Vessel Manager comments.
• Participates pro-actively in the weekly Commercial Operations and technical operations meeting.
• Participate in external and internal audits like: ISO, TMSA meeting
• Conduct technical reliability campaigns through out the fleet.
• Take-over tasks from peers and/or General Manager Technical Operations when needed.
Key deliverables
• Daily steer to the Cluster, driving the uptime, safety and efficiency of the vessels in the cluster
• OPEX, CAPEX monitoring (Budgeting, cost control etc.)
• Updated fleet status for weekly Commercial and Technical status meeting.
• Check on actuals vs budget with assistance of BC.
• Timely approval CAPEX phase 1/ phase 2 / close – out as per DD handbook with assistance of BC and CAPEX team.
• Incident investigation report review and close -out towards General Manager Technical Operations (GMTO).
• Guide VM, Insurance manager, Procurement manager in claim handling and overview (damage and claims to suppliers).
As AM you will also provide the following key input for the Vessel Managers in your team:
• Appraisals (begin, mid and end year) for Vessel Managers, this with support of the GMTO.
• Advice on career development for the Vessel Managers, this with support of the GMTO.
• Advice on renumeration development for the Vessel Managers, this with support of the GMTO.
• Recommended trainings and personal development, this with support of the GMTO.
• Participate in performance meetings for top 3 on board
Key leadership
• Continue developing team interaction within the cluster team, the goal is to maximise decision making and responsibility withing the clusters experts.
• Coach the behaviour of the team members in the clusters, provide a safe haven for all cluster members based on the principles of secure base leadership.
• Ensure work life balance for operational resources is optimised. Compensation leave built-up must be avoided and compensated within reasonable time, also it requires escalation to General Manager Technical Operations when the daily operation simply cannot be done without regular overtime.

What we ask

Completed Master’s or Bachelor’s degree within Maritime Technology, Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant domain;

At least five years experience in a similar role including supervising/managing team members and other stakeholders;

Excellent verbal and written command of English;

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning are vital for success;

You are willing to travel to our vessels when needed (worldwide).
