Meet Steyn – Fleet trainer
Can you introduce yourself?
I’m Steyn Bartels and I’m currently working as a fleet trainer within Anthony Veder. Humans, animals, nature, sports, and adventures are things that really drives me in life.
For this reason, I really like to travel to combine these passions. When I’m not traveling you can always find me around people playing board games or having a drink somewhere. Fun fact: I have over 70 board games.
What do you like most about your work?
To be honest, I would never think I could work for the same company for 12 years. For me it’s all about the people. Anthony Veder’s company culture is very different from most companies and that’s something I’m proud of. The mindset here of the people really fits my personality. Colleagues became good friends.
What do you value most about Anthony Veder?
Well… I think the opportunities. After sailing for 7 years, I noticed I was missing something in my work. As people was always my drive, I wanted to do more. After an invitation in the office, we agreed there was a new role for me as “Fleet trainer”.
In Anthony Veder if you say I have a good idea, they will say go for it. That’s something which really encourages me to come up with new ideas to improve things.
What would you say to someone considering a career at Anthony Veder?
Obviously, Go for it! Within this company, the sky is the limit, or the sea is the limit? Well, you know what I mean.
